BEES AT THE POOL

After and uneventful weekend which is a rare occurrence in this business, no phone calls, no floods no fire alarms going off, I came to work on Monday morning to bees at the pool.

On my way into the offiice I was met by several residents complaining that there is a small bee hive at the pool and could I take care of it.  So I head for our main pool, small bee hive my foot, ha!!! the thing is bigger than my head and growing.  So I called up my pest control guy, he says Ma'm it really cant be that big you are just upset I will be there between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m.

There is a constant stream of irate sun worshipers in the office complaining about the bee hive, I need to come out and remove it immediately, get the maintenance guy to do it, if I dont do something they are going to get me fired.   I get all kinds of remedies to remove the offending bees, smoke them out, light a fire under them, cover the branch with a garbage bag and suffocate them and the list goes on.

3:45 p.m Jorge my pest guy arrives wanting to know why Idid not tell them there was so much bees, the colony, it was not a hive, its a colony had doubled.

I did get his permission to take this!!

The happy task is how to get the 45-60 residents to leave the pool for an hour so this poor guy can remove the bees.  No one wants to leave the pool, cant's we do this after dark, why did I schedule the pest guy to come while the pool was in use, again they are going to get me fired, these are the same folks that wanted me to remove the bees immediately.

Took me a few tries and then finally yelling that they were  killer bees and if everyone don't leave I would just call 911 to make sure we have emergency services when they all get stung and starts to go into shock, the pool is emptied in five seconds flat.  Wait that is not really true, there was this one girl, I say girl she is maybe 35 or so beacuse just about everyone else at the pool are retired.  Well she is the one resident that really should not be at the pool in a string bikini but here she is full frontal and in my face.  I must give credit where it is due so here goes. 

Jorge the pest guy in full bee suit as shown above without even cracking a smile says to this lady, "you know I would really hate to see that beautiful body all swollen up from bee stings so you really need to leave for an hour or so"!!  Of course, she just picks up her stuff tells Jorge how sweet he was and that just for him she will leave and goes on her merry way.

My assistant and I look at each other and I thought we were truly going to pass out laughing.  Then Jorge with a straight face says "I really did'nt think she would believed me".

So the beehive, sorry colony, was removed.  There was really no hive, that whole thing was just bees.  An hour later everyone was back at the pool.  

For the staff and I we are off to the next crisis the naked lady in the restroom.   Seriously third time in a month, but I will tell you about that tomorrow!!
